Getting to know you meme
1. Make a list of 5 things you can see without getting up: books, iPhone, cup of water for the cats, picture of my dad when he was in his 20s, usually one or two kitties.
2. What's the last thing you ate? a few french fries from one of my co-workers
3. What are you wearing now? black tunic, black leggings with silver zippers at the ankles, silver Chelsea boots, metallic scarf, clock necklace, bird earrings
4. What's your occupation? social worker, doctoral candidate, adjunct professor
5. What do you hear right now? The murmur of co-workers at lunch, someone hoovering the rugs in the entrance to the shelter, children in the playground of the school next door.
6. Who was the last person you hugged?drfardook
7. What was/is for dinner? English onion soup that I made on Saturday. Well, that's what I ate last night. Not sure about tonight yet, as I'm meeting up withpomona513 for dinner.
8. Chocolate, strawberry, or vanilla ice cream (or other)? I prefer vanilla fudge, actually. But last night I had a bit of black sesame and almond that I had left over from my trip to Chinatown withdrfardook
9. When did you last see your sibling(s)? Um, January? We don't hang out often. And that's only one. The other, I believe it was November.
10. What websites do you always visit when you go online? LJ, FB, Tumblr. DON'T JUDGE ME. Well, I also read BBC news every day. So perhaps I'm partially redeemed?
11. What was the last thing you bought? An iced tea and a croissant for breakfast.
12. Do you think your name suits you? Others seem to think so.
13. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Hopefully teaching full-time or otherwise engaged in post-doctoral professional research activities.
14. What TV shows do you watch too much? Oh, that's not difficult. Mighty Boosh and Never Mind the Buzzcocks regularly appear on my tv. Doctor Who as well, but not as much since Eleven.
15. How easily do you cry, and about what (apart from obviously traumatic things like losing someone you love)? I cry easily from obviously traumatic things. Otherwise, things that are personal triggers I don't wish to share. Though I did cry at the ending of last night's Being Human. Ain't gonna spoil, but ain't gonna lie. I was gutted.
16. If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play? Well I can already play the guitar (sort of). I'd love to play the drums and the bass guitar.
17. How are you? Eh, kinda sad today actually. And tired. Despite being tired all day yesterday, I had insomnia last night and then woke up shortly after falling asleep with very low blood sugars.
18. What are your top three favorite bands? Of all time? Oh dear. Well The Smiths are an enduring favorite. Does the Boosh Band count? I've also been listening to Elliot Smith again in the last week or two.
19. Who is your best friend? Can't really say I have ONE, but my friend LG probably comes the closest.
20. What's your latest addiction? Pffft. Unless you've been completely ignoring me and my LJ, you'll know it's Noel Fielding.
21. What's the last good movie you saw? The King's Speech completely blew me away. It made me feel patriotic and I'm not even British.
