Apr. 2nd, 2009 09:04 pmSo last October I went to the NY State Society on Aging conference and managed to schmooze the head of the Hartford Foundation Pre-Dissertation committee until he told me exactly what I needed to do to win a grant. The conversation ended with "you should definitely reapply" and a follow up email lead to me getting a gig teaching the intro policy course at Hunter this summer.
I lined up a recommendation from the professor at my University he most admires.
I spent money on official transcripts.
I worked on my application essay.
Today I went to download the application to complete it and . . . there's no pre-dissertation grant this year.
F*****************************************CK!!!!!!!!
Because, yeah, my time isn't valuable and limited or anything.
