Am watching the Wizard of Oz on tv tonight. It's funny, but now that I've read Wicked by Maguire, I can't help but watch it and see the film in an entirely different light! Even without having read that book, I couldn't help but notice what a bitch Glinda the 'good witch' is. First she tells Dorothy that only bad witches are ugly (therefore only good looking people are good?). And she takes the ruby slippers off the dead witch and puts them on Dorothy's feet. So, basically she screwed over the Wicked witch of the West and set up Dorothy to be hunted down.
Not very nice indeed...
