So a paper I wrote for a project I did in my Data Management class 2 years ago was published in a student journal. I received it this week and promptly sent it off to various and sundry. It feels good to have 2 publications under my belt, even if one of them is just a student journal. The other is a book chapter.
A part of me is ready to start the actual dissertation process. I even contacted someone at the NYC Dept. of Homeless Services about setting up meetings to discuss doing research. I shouldn't jump the gun, though, as my oral is on 5/20 and I won't find out my results until June. I'm emotionally exhausted by the comprehensive exam process, and pray that I passed for multiple reasons.
I wish that were the only thing on my mind.
Anyway, at least the weather seems rather nice today. I posted the grades for my students and feel relieved that the semester is over. Now I can turn my attention to the summer classes I'm teaching. I plan to pay off a credit card and buy a new tv with that money. I think I deserve a nice piece of technology. Of course, I'm also looking forward to getting an iPod. So I guess there aren't really the most stringent of limits on what I think I deserve.
Speaking of which, thank you again
