Yes, I am alive

It's been crazy busy here at Hogwarts on the Hudson. The shelter has kept me going non-stop. I think people are starting to lose it with the terrible heat in NYC. Today it's 93F and hella humid. We're waiting two days now for a storm.

We've had more fights, more people with epilepsy having seizures, more staff arguments and general unnecessary drama, more idiocy from the city, and I've just spent the last two days creating a new Excel spreadsheet to track client information. Figuring out formulas for that is like a puzzle game, I tell you.

For those of you who friended me on FB, my Infinitus pictures have been uploaded there. For the rest, I will try to get to it this weekend. I've actually decided to sequester myself this weekend and take off Monday to make some more headway on my dissertation. I also need to clean, as I'm having a dinner party next Friday (Friday the 13th as SF pointed out!).

I'm getting a full CSA share this and next week. Tonight it'll be vegetarian sausages with peppers and onions. But I've got some fried green tomatoes and upma (Indian dish with semolina and vegetables) on the horizon. This week's pick-up included:

green tomatoes
red tomatoes
cucumbers
white carrots (they were actually kinda yellow)
kale
celery
green bell peppers
yellow poblano peppers
onion
apples
and nectarines

On a final note, does anyone on my flist who lives in NYC know where to obtain a pessary? One of our clients has been trying to obtain one for going on two months now. Not even Planned Parenthood was able to help us.
