It was Spring Break for the school where I teach my Saturday class, so this weekend felt like a real weekend. Let the picspam commence.
Friday night I went to the Chicks Dig Timelords panel at Bluestockings. It was hot and crowded, but![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
jigglykat and her co-conspiratorsauthors delighted and entertained. Afterward there was book signing and chatting and then, just when the heat lulled me into a stupor, she poked me and told me to go home. LOL. See, that's what friends are for.

On Saturday I had a lovely picnic with the Jew Crew, where we sat in the park by a lake near 103rd, told each other stories, ate cookies from Sainsbury's and I tried to help them solve their impending Passover dilemma. Oh, and there was hamantaschen. Mmmmmm. Then on Saturday night I met up withelrina753 and her friends. Her friends drank tequila and drew pictures of penises and I felt oooooooooooooooold once again when the person checking IDs made a remark about my age.
We got comped at a place called Horus because a frighteningly fast roach decided it wanted to party with us. Yah, nice damage control as the bill was $75, but still, massive fast-moving roach. Ew. But I got a fantastic shot ofelrina753 with a hookah that really is a ( glamour shot )
On Sunday I met up with TGTSNBN for a bit of COSplay. And the weather was GORGEOUS out. There are pics waiting to be posted, sitting on my and others' cameras. But for now I will at least give you this one taken with my iPhone, of me testing out my ( Luna Lovegood look )
I met up withjennilind, and to my surprise and delight pinstripers16 and macbeemer were there! And I finally got to meet drfardook who I invited in case he wanted to shoot photos. He was surprisingly quiet and sweet for someone with so much snark in him.
pomona513 joined me for the day, and after the park we went to Zum Schneider for dinner. She had some alpenwurst with a pretzel. I had a mixed cheese and salad plate and we shared some spaetzle and potato dumplings with sauerkraut. I didn't even come close to finishing the food, and I am ( still full )
On the way back from the parkpomona513 pointed out this bit of craft work that I'd not seen before. Someone had a lot of time ( on their hands )
I also got my laptop back. Thanks go toubiq31 because the guys at Mike's Tech Shopwere AWESOME and having you on the speakerphone with the entire crew around made it feel a bit like an impromptu party! :-) I now have 250gb on my harddrive, vmware Fusion and Windows on my computer for less than what it would have cost me just to install the HD at Tekserv. Now to figure out how to stop explorer.exe from slowing down Windows on shutdown.
Phew. Now I need a day off to recover from my weekend. :-)
My tummy is still a bit off. Fingers crossed it's fully mended by Friday. There are wine bars to be visited and 28 year old researchers to be dazzled by and my foot to hopefully avoid putting in my mouth. Because as she put it, I am a big dweeb.
