This and that
Dec. 18th, 2009 12:06 pmI sing in praise of heat and hot water - because this morning it was 16F when I left my house! I broke out the Sleeping Bag Coat and kitty hat. I'm not a big fan of freezing temperatures, but then I remind myself that a few days of extreme cold make pest control easier in the Spring.
In the department of offensive and useless "research", I saw this on BBC news today.
And then there was the news about the Arbeit Macht Frei sign theft that made my blood curdle. WTF was the purpose behind this? It is strongly believed to be an inside job and some are declaring it an act of war.
It's been a crazy morning - total nonstop until about 30 minutes ago. My boss is on holiday in India until the New Year. I've got papers to grade and shelter beds to fill and phone calls to make. So of course a ton of staff called out.

pennswoods is coming over! I've not seen her in aaaages. Jew Crew birthday party tomorrow night. And pomona513 on Sunday. In between, I've got to grade papers, finish my holiday shopping (anyone know a good puzzle game for the Wii my dad might like?), do some writing and Spring semester class prep, and oh, did I mention the weather reports predict a major snowstorm?
The kitties continue to make it hard to get out of bed in the morning. I guess cuddles trump kibbles.
