Jun. 2nd, 2009 06:00 pmHoly guacamole, thank you soooo much to everyone who posted about my exam! I feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :)
Yesterday I taught my first class at Hunter, and then promptly came home and passed out. I thought 3 hours of lecturing would be difficult, but apparently I really enjoy hearing myself talk. The students had to interrupt me to say I'd gone over by a few minutes! It's nerve wracking teaching a new course for the first time. This summer I'm teaching the same class twice, so I expect the Thursday students will benefit from me giving the same lecture first to my Monday students. I am meant to be working on my next two lectures right now, but I'm finding myself distracted. I'm sitting in a Starbucks, and will be meeting friends for a little celebratory dinner tonight.
Today I took the day off work and ran some errands and then filled in for a friend of mine who teaches at Hunter as well. I taught some basic clinical skills and we did a fun exercise that I've done before and is more or less "tried and true." But I also got my Hunter ID! I'm pleased with the picture. I'll try to scan it later for your amusement. The big reason I'm excited about it is (of course) library access. :-D Why yes, I am a geek.
After teaching I decided to mill about for awhile before settling down in the Starbucks, and I bought myself a pair of shoes on clearance. They look like high heeled sneakers. Very playful and a little bit funky-hideous. They should go well with the red sunglasses of mine that MD hates so well.I shall try to take a picture of them later too. I found a picture of them online via Amazon.

Well, it's getting rather chilly in here and time is fleeting. I'm off for some celebratory Ethiopian food at Awash with my "Jew Crew" friends ME and AJ. Have a great evening, flist!
