(no subject)

Well, I took Calliope to the Humane Society today to get spayed. The poor dear is sleeping off the drugs right now. Her eyes are still fully dilated and she falls down when she walks. She's in pain, makes the most pitiful mews when I pick her up or she tries to jump and can't make it as far as she thinks she can. So I've got my eye on her for the rest of the night.

Alas, they did not put an Elizabethan collar on her, so no cute picture like the one I have from when Nymphadora was spayed. Calliope is so small. She weighs 6 lbs 12 oz, which is exactly how much I weighed when I was born! They said she'll bulk up a bit but at 10 months I shouldn't expect her to grow more. My little baby kitty, now no longer will she suffer fro heat cycles.

Speaking of cycles, I felt a degree of social isolation this weekend from doing so much homework and not much else. I look forward to seeing my friends again this summer, though not what hurdles I need to jump before I get there.

I did manage to enjoy one thing though. The new Doctor Who! Not sure how many on my flist are watching the show. Ooh, I know. I'll do a poll.
