Well, it's going to be a slim Christmas this year. I just got a phone call from Nymphadora's vet. She's in the middle of dental work and it's a disaster zone in there. Dora has had bad breath for awhile, but I held off on bringing her to the vet because Faberge was taking medical priority. Since Dora is only 4 years old, I figured she was in better shape and I could hold off a bit. Boy was that a mistake.
Now I find out one of her molars is cracked (wtf? how did that happen?). Several other molars are pushing themselves out, and there will be multiple extractions. I anticipate the bill to be about $1k. :gulp: I'm freaking out. I was so close to paying off that credit card, and I feel like a bit of a bad mother for waiting. How on earth does a 4 year old cat bred on high end food, who does not go outdoors, get such a mouth?!?! Grrrrrrr.
I also got a call from the vet that Faberge's ashes are ready for pick up. Boy did that make me cry. I don't even know where I'll put her ashes yet. I have to make a space for them. Perhaps next to the buddha on the low bookshelf in my living room? I dunno.
I also went to the eye doctor today. My insurance company wanted photographs of the scarring on my corneas to approve surgery. That was interesting. The good news is my eyes don't appear to have dry patches anymore. The bad news is, the scarring is not as bad as it was. Looking at pictures of my cornea was weird. It was almost like looking at NASA photos. After the photos were done, they did a "topography" of my eyes. You look into the light of this spinning machine and count to five. I swear, I felt like chanting 'Renew! Renew!'
Anyway, that's probably enough news for today, flist. I have kitten news forthcoming, but will save that for the next post. :evil grin:
Happy Thanksgiving xox
