gina_r_snape: me as drawn by pennswoods (Gets Shit Done)
So, I took a few days off work to get some things done, and to take a Statistics refresher course before my class this semester in Data Management, and I wound up spending most of my time off passed out on my couch. I swear, I think my couch was jinxed or something. Clearly, the schedule of last semester took it out of me.

But then, miraculously, yesterday and today I went into overdrive!

I did a TON of laundry, finally put up a cupboard/shelf in my bedroom, cleared some surfaces, put papers away, worked out my budget, catalogued everything in my freezer and brought down a massive amount of recycling. It was GREAT!

In between, I also managed to do some yoga and [livejournal.com profile] mysduende did her best to get me addicted to I Shouldn't Be Alive.

Classes start this week and I didn't get to do any of the academic prep work I wanted to do aside from the Stats review course. But at least my home is habitable and I can find my desk and other household surfaces again.

Today was a gorgeous day out. Overcast, cool but not cold, drizzly but not soaking. A nice soft sweatshirt and I was on my way running errands. Aaaaaah. I hear we're in for a cold spell in NYC. But I'm not yet convinced.

I also went with [livejournal.com profile] ubiq31 the other day to see Pan's Labyrinth. It was a stunning film. The story was engrossing, the special effects seamless, the acting wonderful (FYI: Spanish with English subtitles). But you couldn't help but walk out feeling a bit gutted, as [livejournal.com profile] skull49 and I concurred in a later conversation. I give it 3 1/2 cauldrons.

Happy belated birthday to [livejournal.com profile] msavi and [livejournal.com profile] nativemoon.

And, happy Sunday, flist.
