#AmazonFAIL distraction

Oh, now that's interesting. Apparently a hacker is taking the credit / blame for what happened with the whole #AmazonFAIL thing.
Is it possible Amazon didn't know they were hacked? Too embarrassed to admit the source of the glitch? Convinced someone to be the fall guy for their own error?
We may never know. But if it was that easy to hack their site, it sure does concern me for my credit card/identity safety.
At least I got a chuckle out of Gore Vidal response to being affected by it:
"What kind of a childish game is this?" Vidal said Monday. "Why don't they just burn the books? They'd be better off and it's very visual on television."
