Aug. 5th, 2009 11:09 pmWhy yes, it is after 11pm and I'm just now getting around to grading that last set of papers.
But before I stop the procrastination . . .
Thanks
sketchybrunette for the sweet and thoughtful thank you card. Classy.
Thanks
_lady_vanilla_ for the Britswap. Hurray tea!
Today I had a conversation with a woman working in the Mayor's office who I approached for help with my dissertation. (She used to work at DHS and I met and chatted with her a few years ago). It turns out that just because you are a high level person in the Mayor's office doesn't mean you can just get whatever data you want from the Department of Homeless Services any time you want it.
Her main advice, however, was to schmooze the one person at DHS who I silently and regularly wish evil things upon. You can just imagine what this person is like if *I* am doing such things, as I rarely harbor actual feelings of hate for anyone. I tell you, flist. Nothing new that I start ever goes easy for me. Every frickin' thing in my life that's like this has to be a Major Life Lesson that's learned or presented to me to be done the hard way.
Considering the stress I've been under lately, I think I'll paraphrase someone on my flist who suggested karma is debiting me now, because something amazing is just around the corner.
